Photographer Leslie Sinclair will exhibit her new show, The Art of i- lü-mə-ˈnā-shən, at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth, during the month of July. A reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, July 12, in conjunction with Art Walk.

In this exhibit, Sinclair brings light to darkness to create a mood, reveal a scene, or highlight color and texture. Everyday objects become something more. Scenes both familiar and unusual are shown in a new light. The images are often mysterious and unexpected, and sometimes reveal a twinkle of humor.

Whether capturing a larger expanse or a small vignette, she strives to show nature and life in a new and interesting way. Sinclair pays homage to the work of still life artists, while adding her own unique perspectives. Her hope is that viewers will enjoy the scenes themselves, that they will evoke nostalgic remembrances, and in addition permit the discovery of something new.

Since 2008, Sinclair has been pursuing her passion for nature and fine art photography. Her work has been exhibited at the Rehoboth and Millsboro art leagues, and she has been recognized by the Ward Museum and The Nature Conservancy.
