The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 9 for Coastal Kids Pediatric Dentistry. Members of the chamber’s Meet & Greet Committee were present to welcome the business to the area.

Coastal Kids Pediatric Dentistry is a pediatric dental practice new to the Medical Arts Building at the Beebe Health Campus in Rehoboth Beach. The office is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in which children receive the best possible dental care. Children and their families will enjoy the friendly staff, entertainment, games and prizes in a relaxed, beach-themed office. The goal is to promote a positive attitude toward dentistry and a lifetime of healthy smiles. Parents can rest assured that their children are receiving state-of-the-art dentistry including digital x-rays, which are ready in seconds and give off 90 percent less radiation.  Steam autoclaves ensure proper infection control, and the highly skilled dental team takes many safety precautions to ensure that sterilization procedures and infection-control guidelines exceed the standards.

Dr. Jessica S. Di Cerbo is dedicated to providing the highest-quality pediatric dentistry. She is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry, and her training allows her to treat infants, children and teens.  She also treats children with mental and physical disabilities, and children with complex medical diagnoses.

Di Cerbo attended Widener University School of Nursing where she earned a bachelor of science in nursing. She spent five years as a surgical nurse before attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she received her doctorate.  She completed her residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Di Cerbo also finds great satisfaction in giving back to the community. While in dental school she helped run a homeless health initiative. Now she speaks at schools and to groups about the importance of oral health. She participates in Give Kids A Smile, which helps uninsured children receive dental care. She is also an active supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

She is originally from Philadelphia, Pa. Her free time is spent reading, going to the beach, playing board games and spending time with family, including her two sons.
