Rehoboth Elementary celebrates literacy mentors

Rehoboth Elementary School celebrated its 25 literacy mentors recently. These individuals, some with canine partners, volunteer at least one hour every week throughout the school year.  Reading mentors assist with word work, reading, and writing in a one-to-one setting with students in grades K-2. Literacy Education Assistance Pups mentors work as a team with their specially trained therapy dogs. Students in grades 3-4 read to the furrier members of the team.

“We are grateful to have wonderful community members partner with our school to support and encourage literacy,” said Rosemary Lobodzinski, reading specialist.
