The Rehoboth Elementary School's K-Kids Chapter is celebrating the collection of more than 1,000 new or gently used books its members gathered for the Cape Community Bookmobile during May. Then with the assistance of club advisor Judy Hudson and foster grandparent John Taylor, they counted the books and sorted them by reading level before donating them to the Cape Henlopen School District’s Community Bookmobile.

The Cape Community Bookmobile is an outreach program of the school district. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays this summer, the bookmobile will visit places in the Rehoboth, Lewes and Milton areas. Children through fifth grade are encouraged to borrow books and keep reading all summer long. One lucky family who participates will win a gift card and bag of books and school supplies.

K-Kids is a service organization for elementary school-aged children, a Key Club International program of Kiwanis International.
