Rehoboth Film Festival’s Home is Midway
Our decision to relocate permanently to the Rehoboth-Lewes area was solidified after we attended our first film festival in November 2006. We were and continue to be delighted with the broad array of independent domestic and foreign films that exposed us to other cultures, religions, traditions, art, architecture, music and natural beauty worldwide.
An unexpected, but happy surprise, was that there were no barriers to meeting and speaking with total strangers. Even a normally shy person would freely offer comments on best and worst films already viewed as we all patiently waited in line for our next film to load. This camaraderie extended into the Big Tent where food, fellowship, and of course, film discussion abounded.
So, it is with very heavy hearts that we face the last year of the film festival at the Midway venue. We more than ever appreciate the generosity and good will of the Derrickson family in allowing the festival to thrive for 17 years at their multiplex. We fervently hope that the film society board and the Derricksons will find a way to let the festival continue at the superb Movies at Midway venue.
