Rehoboth police search for bike thief

Rehoboth Beach police are searching for a man they say stole a bike June 8 from a local motel.

Surveillance video at the Crosswinds Motel at 312 Rehoboth Avenue shows the man spy a 2009 gray Trek Soho locked to the motel stairwell, said Sgt. Raymond Edwards of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.

The man returns at about 7 a.m. with a blue, late model SUV, possibly a Kia Sorrento, and he cuts the lock on the bike. The man then places the bike in the back of his vehicle and drives away, Edwards said.

The man is described as black, 150-200 pounds, 25-35 years old, wearing a dark-colored, short-sleeve shirt and tan pants.
