Source: Submitted Rehoboth Renovations owners Richard Siess, left, and Steve Xander stand in the basement they transformed into a full studio and bathroom.

When artist Aurelio Grisantry decided he needed to do something with his basement - the basement had no proper ceiling, exposed ducts and a concrete floor - he contacted the team at Rehoboth Renovations for an overhaul.

Just a few months later, he was thrilled at the transformation of his basement into a finished studio and bathroom, thanks, he said to the handiwork of Rehoboth Renovations owners Steve Xander and Richard Siess.

The team not only helped design and conceive the new studio, complete with the direction of plumbing and electrical installation, the artist said their execution was flawless.

"The work is superb, the detailing perfect," Grisantry wrote in an email praising the contractors.

Xander is a master craftsman, working as a renovator and cabinetmaker since the '70s. He began his career as an apprentice in Rockville, Md., and worked in California into the '80s before returning to the East Coast and arriving in Rehoboth Beach.

Together with Siess, Xander helps homeowners go through the specifics of their remodel in a free consultation, from kitchens to studios to bedrooms and bathrooms, identifying styles and pricing, when available, before moving ahead into construction.

Priding themselves on the care with which they address the homes of their clients, Rehoboth Renovations assures the build is neat and orderly, with as little impact on the rest of the home as possible.

Serving clients throughout Rehoboth, Milton and Lewes – and sometimes accepting jobs as far as Ocean City, Md. – Siess said the team treats every job as its own distinct endeavor, working to complete their work to create a useful, stylish and well-designed space.

"Every job is different," he said. "We like being able to help the customer visualize what it can become."
