Roberta B. Elliott, 89, of Spotsylvania, Va., formerly of Lewes, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Marion Manor in Stafford, Va. She was born in Wilmington, Nov. 8, 1922, daughter of the late Robert and Jane (Kirkland) Bradshaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Clarence J. Elliott, who died April 15, 2011, and four sisters.

Mrs. Elliott was a 1940 graduate of Alexis I. DuPont High School, Wilmington. She enjoyed reading, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by one daughter, Carol E. Jackson and her husband Capt. Walter B. Jackson, USN (Retired) of Spotsylvania; three grandchildren: Katherine (Jackson) Brown and her husband Dave of Seattle, Wash., Elizabeth Ann (Jackson) Jongbloedt and her husband Greg of Menasha, Wis., and Walter Bryan Jackson and his wife Baylee of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four great-grandchildren: Annabelle Grace and Elliott Paul Jongbloedt of Menasha, Owen Layne Jackson of Oklahoma City and Ethan Jackson Brown of Seattle.

A graveside service, originally planned for 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, has been postponed because of weather concerns to 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to noon at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware SPCA, Sussex Chapter, 22918 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947, or Cuidado Casero Home Care of Virginia, 4815 Carr Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
