Roo Brown and Mixed Blessings, Sussex Tech's Bella Voce to perform at RAL open house Dec. 7

Two outstanding music groups will be performing for guests at the Rehoboth Art League’s Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 7. At 10 a.m., Roo Brown with Mixed Blessings will sing, and at 11 a.m. the Sussex Tech Bella Voce and Concert Choir will perform.

Mixed Blessings, a group formed in 2009, is an a cappella group based in Lewes. Under the direction of Brown, they sing The Great American Songbook, an eclectic assortment of music from Bernstein to the Beatles. They describe themselves as “Mixed Blessings, can’t seem to stop singing and laughing,"

Under the direction of Sarah Rose, Bella Voce, Italian for "beautiful voice," are ambassadors from the Sussex Tech Concert Choir to the public. The group consists of 25 auditioned women who sing music that is more challenging. They meet after school on Mondays and perform at various school events, public performances, and winter and spring concerts. The group originally had 14 members and has had as many as 28. The performance will include holiday favorites and original compositions.

The open house is a day of hospitality and offers a chance to shop locally and creatively for the holidays. The Corkran Gallery has a selection of fine arts, crafts and holiday gift items. Art demonstrations, craft workshops and Santa will make it a wonderful way to enjoy the beginning of the holiday season.

The Holiday Open House runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information, visit or call 302-227-8408.
