Rusted Root to perform at Bottle & Cork July 30

Jul 09, 2014

The Rusted Root band will take the stage at the Bottle & Cork Wednesday, July 30.

In honor of its 25th anniversary, Rusted Root has started an Indie-a-Gogo campaign to raise money to record a brand-new studio album, the band's eighth, and follow up the current release, “The Movement.” In order to make the music the members want and their fans desire, Rusted Root must do it independently, without the funding of a record label. To date, the band has written more than 30 songs for the new record, many of which have already been tested in front of fans.

Rusted Root has been on an extensive national tour to support the release of “The Movement,” their debut album with Shanachie Entertainment.

Founder and front man Michael Glabicki says, "'The Movement' is an extremely joyous recording with seriously deep undertones. It is a culmination of everything we have learned; it is truly is a career record for us.” Famous for its unique fusion of acoustic, rock and world music, and formed more than 20 years ago, Rusted Root has recorded eight albums and sold over 3 million records worldwide and has played on the road supporting groups like Santana, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, the HORDE Festival and the Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion tour. Its music has been featured in films like "Ice Age," "Twister" and "Matilda," and TV shows like "New Girl," "Ally McBeal," "Charmed" and "Chuck."

The current tour lineup is Glabicki, lead vocals, guitar; Liz Berlin, vocals, percussion; Patrick Norman, vocals, bass, percussion; Preach Freedom, percussion; and Dirk Miller, guitar.

Showtime is 11:30 p.m. The Bottle & Cork is at 1807 Highway One, Dewey Beach; phone 302-227-7272. For more information go to www.rustedroot.com.
