Bethany Beach — Unseeded Brianna Morgan rolled past top-seeded Jessica Moore June 16 to win her first professional tennis tournament at the 3rd annual Sea Colony Pro Women's Open in Bethany Beach.

Morgan will be entering her sophomore year at the University of Florida in the fall. This past year, she was named to the All-SEC second team and the SEC's All-Freshmen team.

Moore, 22, of Australia, is ranked 385th in the world.

Morgan, 19, of Beverly Hills, Calif., beat the top three seeded players in the tournament to earn the win. However, her toughest match came against another unseeded player, Kelsey Laurente, in the quarterfinal round. After winning the first set 6-1, Morgan dropped the second 6-1. She was able to rediscover the magic in the third set, though, powering for another 6-1 set win.

The International Tennis Federation event was held on the clay courts at the Sea Colony tennis facility June 10-16.

Winning the doubles bracket at the Pro Women's Open was the duo of Lindsey Hardenbergh, 22, of Fairfax Station, Va., and Peggy Porter, 17, of Dallas, Texas. The team cruised to an easy straight-set win in the championship match, defeating Denise Muresan of Lincolnshire, Ill., and Jacqueline Wu of Holmdel, N.J., 6-1, 6-4 on June 15.
