Seaford, Woodbridge students claim bragging rights in Del Tech Top Engineer competition
The Wobbling Warriors, composed of (l-r) Lane Hastings, 15, of Woodbridge High School; Autumn Sheren, 14, of Seaford High School; Sharon Catalan, 14, of Seaford High School; and Kyle Wilkerson, 14, of Seaford High School, won the 2014 Top Engineer design competition at Delaware Tech Owens campus.
The annual event is open to students in the Delaware Tech Upward Bound Math and Sciences program for high school students. This year, 12 students participated in the competition representing Seaford, Woodbridge, Laurel, and Sussex Central high schools. UBMS strengthens the math and science skills of selected high school students and generates the abilities and motivation necessary for their success in postsecondary programs leading to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers.
