Second annual Girls Night Out to Fight MS raises more than $15,500
MS Society and Noble's Pond staff gathered Oct. 28 at Noble’s Pond Clubhouse for a check presentation after another very successful Girls Night Out to Fight MS event. This second annual affair, which was held Sept. 21, raised more than $15,500 for the Delaware Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
“We were overjoyed to receive such a sizable contribution, which will be used to fund national research projects and local programs for people living with multiple sclerosis. We continue to be amazed by the support and generosity of the Noble’s Pond staff, volunteers, and Dover community who make this event such a great success,” said Linda Risk, development director of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Delaware Chapter.
Girls Night Out has gained considerable momentum in the last two years. In total, the event has brought in more than $25,000. Colleen Ostafy, lifestyle director at Noble’s Pond, is the founder of this new annual tradition and already has big plans for next year’s event, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014.
“We are so overwhelmed by the amount of sponsorships and support from our residents and community. From raising $10,500 in 2012 to raising $15,500 this year, it’s truly unbelievable. I know that we are going to make the 2014 event even bigger. The planning is underway and we are so excited. Our goal is to keep raising funds until we can have a party to celebrate the cure of MS,” said Ostafy.
Girls Night Out to Fight MS is a celebration for women across Delaware who want to join in the fight against multiple sclerosis. The event includes local vendors and eateries, a fashion show, silent auction, dancing, and more.
Each year, there is a fun theme. Past years’ themes include Endless Summer and Hollywood Glamour. Price is $20 per ticket. Visit Noblespondhomes.com for 2014 event information.
