Senior Girl Scout Katie Maher to speak at Woman of Distinction Luncheon May 8Sue Krick to be honored at 2014 event
The last few months have been quite busy for the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts Council’s 2014 Woman of Distinction, Sue Krick. Part of the council’s mission is empowering girls to become informed, involved, active participants in their communities as they encourage the development of future leaders. Senior Girl Scout Katie Maher, who will be one of the speakers at the Woman of Distinction Luncheon May 8, is a shining example of how Girl Scouts helps empower girls to become leaders.
Maher participated in an Engineering Career Dine Around with Delaware’s 2002 Engineer of the Year, Deb Grubbe, PE, CEng, and Krick. The presentation followed Grubbe’s enginnering career from college, through her work with NASA to the present as she travels worldwide with her consulting firm, Operations and Safety Solutions.
The CBGSC celebrates a woman who has made a difference in the community, inspired others and provided a positive role model for girls and young women. A signature luncheon for Krick will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and is open to the public. To reserve a seat, contact Denise Eberspeaker at 410-742-5107.
