Share the beach with a grateful heart

The season is about upon us. If you're like me, you're probably ready for a dose of summer.

I love the long days, warm weather and carefree attitude that comes that summer living here on the Delaware shore.

The ocean breeze has a hint of salty scent. Seagulls fly, sounding their welcome call.  It reminds me; the sea is never far away.

Also with the summer comes our vacation visitors, who bring energy of the season and tourism that makes our area thrive.

For some, summer crowds and traffic can be overwhelming. But the hustle and bustle is all in the spirit of summer. In a welcoming spirit, I know we're looking forward to sharing our beaches with grateful hearts.

Those of us who are lucky enough to call the beach home get to enjoy this area all year long.

We know the magic of the ocean and attraction of the coast, which is why so many of us stay here.

Others have found their lives playing out in the concrete jungles and suburbs of America, and they need a reprieve. Many choose to do just that at our beaches. Our area is a symbol of rest, relaxation and summer dreams.

For  merchants and people who work here, vacationers are the lifeblood of our community.

Just as those who flock here to vacation depend on the beach to revitalize them spiritually, we depend on them. It’s a small reminder that in one way or another, we’re all in this together.  I take comfort in that.

I’m excited for all the fun, music, sunshine, barbecues and new friends this summer season is about to bring. I’m looking forward to snow cones, swimming pools, late sunsets, cold drinks and sticking my feet in the sand. I am so grateful to call the beach my home, and I'm excited to share another season with you here, on the pages of the Beach Paper.

We’re going to explore all our favorite aspects of beach life. From getting on the sandy beaches to enjoying the towns and beyond, we’re in for another summer full of fun!

Happy summer season, everyone! Let’s get ready to share our beaches with grateful hearts!
