Sherman from the Shorebirds baseball team visited students at Milton Elementary School recently to help kick off a reading program. The children listened to a version of “Casey at the Bat” with some special tweaking that Sherman added to the story. His visit kicked off the “Hit the Books Program.”

Each child received a Sherman bookmark to use as they read four books between now and Friday, March 1. Every child who turns in the titles of four books read will receive two tickets to an upcoming Shorebirds game.
