Six arrested in Millsboro drug bust
Six Millsboro residents face charges after police conducted a long-term investigation into drug dealing in Carey's Camp Mobile Home Park.
Officers with the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor's Task Force, Troop 4 Patrol and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team first went to a home in the 31000 block of Carey's Drive at 6 a.m. July 8, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
There, he said, police found a .380 semi-automatic handgun with six rounds of ammunition, 239 bags of heroin totaling 5.975 grams, eight grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $4,557 in suspected drug proceeds. Police arrested Jason L. Davis, 32, Cassandra L. Higgins, 23, Jenna L. Ennis, 25, and Justin R. Wood, 29, without incident, Fournier said.
During the search of the first home, police spotted Robert A. Young Jr., 29, fleeing from a home in the 21000 block of Charles Drive, Fournier said.
Police used a Taser to take Young into custody; Cassandra C. Dixon, 26, was arrested inside the home without incident, he said. Also inside the home was 70 bags of heroin totaling 1.7 grams, a 20-gauge shotgun, .5 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $929 in suspected drug proceeds, Fournier said.
Davis, Higgins, Ennis, Wood and Young were charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and other charges. Davis was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $43,700 secured bond; Wood on $41,700; and Young on $21,500.
Higgins was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in default of $43,700 and Ennis on $44,300.
Dixon was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
