Solo exhibition by Aina Nergaard-Nammack opens Sept. 6
The Delaware Division of the Arts Mezzanine Gallery will present Aina Nergaard-Nammack’s exhibition, Fragments of Classical Music, Sept. 6-27. The gallery, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is in the Carvel State Office Building, 820 N. French St., Wilmington. There will be a reception to meet the artist from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, as part of Wilmington’s Art Loop.
This solo exhibition of Nergaard-Nammack’s work will showcase a series of paintings based on classical music. The artist uses multiple brushes and her body’s physical movement to paint the music she is immersed in during a painting’s creation. Nergaard-Nammack actively moves around the room while painting to obtain different views of the forms and colors, creating a vibrant and balanced composition.
Delaware’s Individual Artist Fellow in Painting, Nergaard-Nammack attended the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Spain and continued as a self-taught artist. Nergaard-Nammack has shown her paintings locally, regionally and internationally and has work in corporate, private, and university collections.
