Southern Delaware Go Red for Women Luncheon Feb. 7
Celebrating its 11th year nationally and in Delaware, the Southern Delaware Go Red For Women Luncheon is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 7, at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino. The event features education, vendors and a silent auction with featured speakers Dr. Jane Sherman and Dr. Richard Sherman of Milford.
A special fashion show this year will feature local leading men and their inspiring personal stories. The event chair this year is Kimberly Holmes of Bayhealth Medical Center, and her vice chair is Elaine Bittner of Chesapeake Utilities.
Go Red For Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also action to save more lives. It challenges women to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart-healthy life.
In 2010, the American Heart Association set a strategic goal of reducing death and disability from cardiovascular disease and strokes by 20 percent while improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent by the year 2020.
