Special advocate for children speaks to First Town Club
Lauren Pearce Brueckner, program coordinator for Court Appointed Special Advocates, spoke at the First Town Club’s Oct. 17 monthly meeting, where she discussed the CASA program and the volunteer opportunities. CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of children in cases of abuse, dependency and neglect. Her background includes working in Gov. Jack Markell’s administration and as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa. Brueckner shared her passion as a child advocate in her discussion with club members.
