Apr 01, 2014
This original art by 7-year-old Greysen Hitchens of Georgetown will be among the items auctioned at the DFRC Blue-Gold event April 5.

The DFRC Blue-Gold Sussex Auction, benefiting DFRC, Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with intellectual disABILITIES, will be held in the Clubhouse Ballroom at Baywood Greens in Long Neck Saturday, April 5.

Dozens of items, many with southern Delaware flair, will be up for silent and live auction bidding. Among the items are original artwork by Greysen Hitchens, 7, of Georgetown, who has an inoperable brain tumor; basketball shoes autographed by Elena DelleDonne, 2013 WNBA Rookie of Year who led the University of Delaware women's basketball team to the NCAA Sweet 16 in her senior year; and a Fightin' Blue Hens football helmet signed by head coach Dave Brock.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $45 per person. This is an adult event with wine tastings, heavy hors d'oeurves and a hand-etched wine glass for all attendees. Call 302-363-7371, 302-644-6330 or DFRC at 302-454-2730 for tickets.
