Students from the Sunday morning seventh and eighth grades in Religious Education at St. Jude the Apostle Church helped members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society fill 74 boxes of food Nov. 24.

The Religious Education students and their families participated in the parish effort to collect nonperishable food items to be distributed to needy families in the area.

Twelve turkeys were donated by Sussex Technical High School, and 62 were purchased by the charitable society.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society, founded in France in 1833, is an international organization dedicated to helping the poor. For more information about the St. Vincent de Paul Society or religious education at St. Jude’s, call 302-644-7413 or go to www.stjudeslewesde.org.
