Starving Artists’ Show and Sale at Nassau Winery

Opening reception Aug. 4
Aug 01, 2013
"The Lookouts" by Don Blow

Donald Blow and Anne Crown-Cyr will be in the gallery at Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery during August. This is the second joint show for the award-winning artists who are signature-level members of the Delaware Watercolor Society. They will have original paintings and prints on display. New and retired paintings in watercolor and oil will be available for purchase at reasonable prices.

“We are excited to return to Nassau to display our work in this lovely gallery,” said Crown-Cyr.

Blow, a native of Delawarean, is well known for his dry-brush, Wyeth-like watercolors of farms and landscapes of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maine. He studied at the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and is a member of the Philadelphia Sketch club. He currently resides in Smyrna. To see more of his work, go to www.donaldblow.com.

Crown-Cyr is a native of Arlington, Va. who likes to travel and paint in places such as Provence, Ireland, Italy, the Bahamas, and well as in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Maine, Arizona, and New Mexico. Her watercolors are often high-key, gestural impressions of a place; her oils rely on spontaneous brush work and palette knife with a more literal approach to subject matter. She has a degree in painting from the University of Delaware and lives in Rehoboth Beach. Go to www.annecrownstudio.com to see her work.

This is a chance to find that special piece for your home, business, or cottage. The public is invited to the opening reception Sunday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery, 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. Winery and gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information call 302-645-9463.
