State Parks campgrounds nearly sold out for Labor Day Weekend

Aug 27, 2014

This week, Delaware State Parks are reporting fully booked campgrounds at Killens Pond, Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore State Parks for the Labor Day Weekend. While some sites remain open at Lums Pond and Trap Pond State Parks, officials are urging campers to make reservations now.

The unusually comfortable summer weather has inspired families and individuals to get outdoors, and the campgrounds provide a base from which visitors can spend several days enjoying the activities offered in the parks. They can hike, bike, fish, take a Go Ape Tree-Top Adventure followed by a quick trip to the Brandywine Zoo to see the new Red Panda exhibit, or tour Trap Pond on a relaxing pontoon trip during their stay.

Year-round cabins and cottages let campers continue to enjoy the parks throughout the fall and winter, and Delaware State Parks will be offering an incentive for campers who want longer stays. From September 7 through November 30, campers will receive 50 percent off stays from Sunday through Thursday. Details and coupon codes are available at destateparks.com or in the Fall Guide available at each park.

Camping and pavilion reservations may be made online at destateparks.com or by phone to 1-877-987-2757. Additional information about all Delaware State Parks’ sites, events and activities, as well as the Fall Program Guide, can be found at destateparks.com.
