The DE-feet Breast Cancer 5K run and walk and talk stepped off from the Tanger Seaside Outlets onto the Junction & Breakwater Trail May 18, and 779 supporters with a bounce in their step and chips on their bibs crossed back over the finish line.

But mostly the event was about survivors and their families and also about remembrances as a few runners carried pictures of mothers, aunts and friends.

The leaderboard for men in the race for the top five read Steven Eshelman 18:22, Anthony Romano 19:39, Lou Piffer 20:13, Patrick Short 20:42 and John Blackford 20:53.

The women's top five were Alyssa Pietrobono 20:32, Lisa Sherman 21:36, Ashley Diehl 22:12, Katherine Kulig 22:27 and Sara Bushey 22:40.
