Sundance Land and Sea Sashay a Sunday morning of festive fun

A boardwalk 5K and mile walk attracted 130 runners and 17 walkers while another 33 choose to charge into an agitated ocean for the swim/run biathlon in the fourth annual Land and Sea event sponsored by CAMP Rehoboth.

The 5K race was won by Mike Sewell in 17:39 followed by Brandt Chi in 18:05, Joey Andrisani in 18:34, Dan Rosenfield in 19:09 and Erik Farinas in 19:28.

Maryl Ludwig was the top woman finisher in 20:14 followed by Marybeth Evans in 21:41, Kim Geyer in 22:22, Alexandra Barone in 23:13, Linda Schwartz  Chi in 23:40 and Joann Szczepkowski in 23:58.

The biathlon was won by Cody Quig, 21, from Wilmington  in a total time of 32:14. He was followed by Jack Weeks, 33:18; Darin Slade, 34:16; Ryan Amsley, 35:12; and Lillian McCormick 35:47.
