Sunshine Times offers Mike's Organic Fertilizer and Plant TonicLocally grown organic manufacturing opens in Sussex County
Bringing to Delmarva an organic garden fertilizer, Sunshine Times LLC is now open for business. The brain child of Michael Zajic, Sunshine Times has created a product that can be used by gardeners, orchardists, farmers or vintners.
Composed of all organic ingredients, manufactured locally in Nassau, licensed by the Delaware Department of Agriculture, Mike's Organic Fertilizer and Plant Tonic has been tested for years by local growers and has been proved to generate amazing results from just one use a year.
Zajic, president and founder of Sunshine Times, was the horticultural supervisor for 23 years at Brookside Gardens, a Maryland public botanic garden. He is joined in this endeavor by John Saltiel, plant scientist and technologist; Ptery Iris, sales and marketing; Sam Cashdollar, production manager, and Kristine Duran, administrator.
Zajic has studied soils and fertility for 25 years, experimenting in search of a perfect blend and maximum results. The blend includes even pH and the balance by atomic weight of magnesium and potash. It was found to triple growth rates for woody plants, increase hardiness, double flower and fruit production, deepen colors, and more.
One benefit, Zajic says, is the very small amount needed of this highly concentrated and effective product. Production started in January, and the fertilizer will be available to consumers through various locally owned retailers as well as at www.SunshineTimesLLC.com at a cost of $14.99 for a two-pound poly jug.
John Feliciani, owner of Black Hog Farm near Lewes and former director of horticulture at Winterthur, says, “I wouldn’t use anything else!”
