By Steven C. Deery Jr. | May 09, 2013

I submit this letter to identify my support and ask for your support during the upcoming school board election Tuesday, May 14. Leolga T. Wright is a member of the Indian River School District Board of Education and is seeking election.

Leolga was originally appointed to fill a vacant school board position and must seek election to continue serving the residents of the Indian River School District. Leolga is a native Sussex Countian who has devoted many hours of community service to the residents of Sussex County which includes: life member of the ladies auxiliary, Indian River Volunteer Fire Company; life member and active firefighter, Indian River Volunteer Fire Company; member, Nanticoke Indian Association; volunteer, Sussex County Meals on Wheels Program; and member, Indian Mission United Methodist Church

During her tenure on the board of education, Leolga has championed causes that greatly enhanced the quality of education for our children within the Indian River School District. Her accomplishments include campaigning and supporting full day kindergarten as well as being a dedicated and diligent public servant representing all district residents. Leolga also serves on the district’s community partnership that collaborates with many community ministries to hear the communities’ concerns regarding our children’s education.

Leolga is proud of her Native American heritage and is excited to continue serving the residents of District 3 and being your voice on the Indian River School District Board of Education. Leolga has been an active community volunteer for many years and has truly served her constituents with vigor, enthusiasm and professionalism. Leolga and her family host a significant farming presence in our immediate community.

Please join me in voting for Leolga T. Wright Tuesday, May 14.
