Students from the Sussex Academy in Georgetown have been busy this spring helping the community through service projects. Sixth-grade students are collecting cans for their food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Delaware. The seventh-grade team recently conducted a book swap and donated the money collected to Teen Challenge.

Eighth-grade students spent their annual service day at the Salisbury Zoo April 2, working to prepare the zoo and the surrounding park area for the summer season.

Ninth-grade students, as well as Leo Club members and other middle school students, spent April 6 helping clean out the Milton Theatre and get it ready for the public.

Community service is an important and integral part of the curriculum at Sussex Academy. Throughout the year, students participate in individual service projects, as well as team and schoolwide projects.
