Sussex LWV continues its participation in the U.S. agriculture policy studyPanel discussion set Tuesday, Jan. 14
After three months of research and an earlier public forum introducing the study, the local agriculture study group of the League of Women Voters of Sussex County will present a panel discussion Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Beebe Medical Arts Building, Beebe Medical Campus, 18941 John J. Williams Highway, Route 24, in Rehoboth from 1 until 2:45 p.m.
Among the panelists will be Sussex County farmers, including Charles Smith of TS Smith and Sons of Bridgeville, and Hattie Allen, owner of Hattie’s Garden of Lewes. These local farmers will address how large and small niche farming can add to the agriculture economy and bring interesting and healthy foods to the local tables.
After the panelists have made their presentations, attendees will be asked for their questions and comments. The meeting is open to the public and all interested Sussex Countians are encouraged to attend.
This is an opportunity to learn how the League of Women Voters determines its non-partisan positions on issues of importance to the people in America. The study is being conducted by local branches of the League of Women Voters throughout the United States between November 2013 and April 2014.
