Sussex Outdoors publication a real 'keeper'
Someone should loudly point out the very fine 2014 guide book put out by Lewes-Rehoboth Rotary Club and Sussex Outdoors: Great Walks and Trails in Sussex County, has been updated, polished and published for years and is free to the public.
It is a win-win-win for commerce, tourists and residents, and the activities that Rotary supports. It has grown in quality and quantity (over 100 pages) and can be found at info sites, restaurants and banks. It has descriptions of town and country trails all over the county which highlight the nature and history of the region, and has maps and photographs to capture the opportunity.
It even has an article on the new Gordons Pond Trail prior to its recent opening, as well as one for those committed to adventure on the 6,800-plus American Discovery Trail which walks you back and forth across the continent.
The guide has an open agenda to encourage fitness and to take advantage of our recreational resources. It has supportive medical and dietary articles, and even pertinent quotes from literature. Even the advertisements are relevant and tasteful, and they let you know whose contributions support the endeavor so you can thank them when you visit their enterprises.
In my mind this is a publication which stays relevant; it is a “keeper” that can be referred to when planning a Sussex visit. Hats off to Rotary and Sussex Outdoors!
