The Sussex Tech JROTC Raven Battalion hosted its annual Winter Military Ball Jan. 18. Following a delicious dinner, cadets enjoyed dancing and fellowship at the Georgetown CHEER Center. Special guests at the ball were Sussex Tech School District board member George Torbert and and his wife, Jeannie.

During the evening, the cadets had the opportunity to experience proper military protocol by participating in the officers’ receiving line and toasting the commander in chief, U.S. Army, and POW-MIAs.

At the end of the evening, Battalion Commander Kaycee Bean did the traditional slicing of the celebration cake with a military saber.

The cadets expressed their appreciation to the battalion’s parent boosters club for arranging the evening and decorating the venue.
