Sussex Tech students receive service academy nominations

Sussex Technical High School announces that two of its seniors and three graduates have been nominated for the U.S. service academies.

Seniors nominated were Natalie Sava of Seaford and Robert Christensen of Harbeson. U.S. Sen. Tom Carper nominated Natalie for the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. She is presently studying Media Broadcasting Communications Technologies.

Robert was nominated by Carper, U.S. Sen. Chris Coons and U.S. Rep. John Carney for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. Robert is studying Electronics/Computer Information Systems Engineering at Sussex Tech.

2013 graduate Kyle Breckner of Lincoln received a nomination for the U.S Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. from Carper and Carney. Coons and Carney nominated 2013 graduate John Hearn of Lewes for the U.S Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point.

Carney nominated 2012 Sussex Tech graduate Madelyn Crimmins of Georgetown for the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

The decision to appoint a nominee rests solely with each academy.
