SWEET SERENITY CHOCOLATES DONATES TO CANCER CARE CENTER

By Nanticoke Health Services | Jun 17, 2014
Rachel Benjamin (center right), owner of Sweet Serenity Chocolates in Seaford Delaware, recently presented Nanticoke Health Services with a check for $750 in support of cancer services at the hospital.   Also pictured (L to R) is Renee’ Morris, Executive Director for the Nanticoke Health Services Foundation, Penny Short, COO/CNO at Nanticoke Health Services and Denise Jester, Nanticoke Health Services CFO.

Owners of Sweet Serenity Chocolates in Seaford, Delaware wanted to help the people in their local community.  So, in October as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month they held a fundraiser, pledging to donate 10% of the store proceeds to Nanticoke Cancer Care Services.  Recently, Rachel Benjamin, co-owner of Sweet Serenity, stopped by Nanticoke Memorial Hospital to present the check for $750.  This money will be used to support Nanticoke Cancer Care Services patients undergoing radiation or medical oncology services.  The cancer program at Nanticoke also helps patients through support groups, providing assistance with transportation when needed, and helping patients navigate the health care system through its care coordinator.

Generous donors like Sweet Serenity Chocolates are the key to our success and make it possible for Nanticoke Health Services to positively impact our communities’ quality of life through superior health service.

Sweet Serenity supports Nanticoke Health Services and the community in many ways throughout the year including their significant participation in the recent Live for Chocolate, Girls Night Out event promoting women’s health education.  Thank you Sweet Serenity Chocolates for your support.
