Thanks for honesty and caring actions
An unfortunate error on my part ended up being far less than tragic thanks to the honesty and caring actions of James Adams of Lewes, who with his wife owns Silk and Sand Florists.
While disposing of cardboard at the Lewes recycling area by the sewer plant late in the day, I lost my cell phone when it fell to the ground. Unaware of this loss, I drove off to continue errands. I didn't realize I had lost the phone until I arrived home. A frantic retracing of my route failed to turn up the phone.
My wife repeatedly called my phone in the hope that I might hear it ringing at one of my stops. Finally, we sat down to a very late dinner, with me resigned to having to replace my phone, when my wife's cell phone rang. The caller, Mr. Adams, said he had found the phone on the ground at the recycling area and wanted to return it.
About 45 minutes later, I had my phone, along with renewed faith in the goodness of strangers. Mr. Adams proved how one person's effort to do what is right can make a difference in the life of someone he had never met.
Thank you, Mr. Adams, for your caring and honesty. I hope others read this and are reminded that they, too, can help other people.
