Thanks to Beebe emergency room staff
I wanted to send my own letter of praise to the Cape Gazette after reading a recent letter from Ted Imbach of Towson, Md. My husband, a heart patient, was alone at home and started to have shortness of breath and feel dizzy on the morning of Oct. 23. He called 911, and fortunately a skilled emergency response team arrived in less than 10 minutes. My husband praised their thorough work assessing his condition as they prepared to transport him to Beebe Medical Center.
He was checked into the emergency room shortly thereafter. I arrived home just after the ambulance left and neighbors told me they were on the way to Beebe. When I got to the emergency department I was unable to immediately see him as they were performing tests and continuing to assess his condition.
I was soon able to go back and see my husband and thank God it was not his heart causing the shortness of breath and dizziness. It turned out to be a diabetic episode. After receiving the discharge papers, I realized that Beebe's emergency department had done a thorough job and numerous tests to quickly and efficiently rule out a cardiac event and diagnose the cause of his frightening symptoms.
We are both so very pleased with the care received at Beebe and would like to praise all the nurses, technicians, and staff involved. I just wanted to write this letter to make all our friends and Cape Gazette readers in the greater Lewes-Rehoboth area know how blessed we are to have a such great emergency response teams/EMTs and a skilled emergency department at Beebe Medical Center. Thanks for your compassion and professionalism, they are greatly appreciated!
