The Charity Wishlist accepting donations to assist Seaside Heights, N.J.
In the wake of the tragic fire that destroyed the boardwalk area in a recently rebuilt section of Seaside Heights, N.J., Milford-based business The Charity Wishlist announces it is accepting donations through its online Disaster Relief Fund. The Disaster Relief Fund was created a month ago, when TCW launched, to offer assistance to areas impacted by disasters.
"This is exactly the type of situation we created the Disaster Relief Fund for," said TCW owner Phil Wojcik. "Our hearts go out to the residents and business owners of Seaside Heights who must feel like they can't catch a break. But we're here to give them a helping hand."
TCW has already received one generous donation from the Frederick Douglass Foundation after owners began letting the public know via direct emails and the TCW Facebook and Twitter accounts how they can donate to the Disaster Relief Fund.
Those who wish to donate may do so by going to www.thecharitywishlist.org and clicking on Donate Today at the top of the page. All donations are made securely through TCW's Authorize.net portal. For companies or individuals who wish to send a donation in the form of a check or money order, they can be made out to The Charity Wishlist, 626 Beechwood Ave., Milford, DE 19963, with Disaster Relief Fund in the memo line.
TCW will coordinate with disaster relief and charity organizations organizing in Seaside Heights and donate the money toward the purchase of materials to be used in the rebuilding efforts. TCW guarantees a minimum of 90 percent of all donations given through the system will go to the organization for those in need, and not overhead or administrative fees.
Also, for Seaside Heights charities that need assistance, TCW will provide an online donation system at no cost to the group. TCW tracks the donations, and will send payment as needed. The ability to set up a needs-based catalog of items is also available. Visitors to the site can select the items and pay for them at checkout. TCW will review the orders, make the purchases and have the items drop shipped.
Charities and nonprofits organizing fundraisers can also post upcoming events to the Charity Wishlist's Event Calendar, as well as news releases to the TCW website.
