Three athletes from The Firm Fitness Center in Rehoboth Beach competed in their first indoor rowing competition Feb. 8. The Main Line Slide took place at Jake Nevins Field House at Villanova University in Philadelphia. Every competitor in various divisions, age groups, genders and weight classes rowed a 2,000-meter course.

"It is a consensus that 2,000 meters is the single most painful rowing distance," said The Firm owner Paul Timmons. "It takes a certain type of person to excel at such things. I could not be more proud of Team Firm's results in our first competition this weekend."

Timmons finished first in the men's lightweight 40-49 division with a time of 6:57.6. With a time of 7:44.3, Heather Kenton placed third in the women'slightweight women division.

"Heather Kenton, relative to her peers, is the best rower I have ever coached and placed in an extremely competitive field against DI college athletes," Timmons said.

Shelley Seivert earned second place in the women's 30-39 class with a time of 7:37.7.

"Shelley Seivert is a former professional boxer and has been a client for 10 years," Timmons said. "I don't know a tougher human, and I am not the least bit surprised she did well."
