The Jefferson School families give to Seaford House children
The Jefferson School’s student council and student families fulfilled Christmas gift lists received from children residing at the Seaford House, a residential and day treatment facility in Seaford for at-risk teens. Lists were disbursed, items were purchased, and gifts were wrapped and donated in time for Christmas.
"The student council chose to support children at the Seaford House, and our families took on the mission by purchasing and wrapping over 50 gifts for 18 children at the facility," said Connie Hendricks, head of school. "Our students and families loved being able to give to teens in our own community."
Seaford House serves kids ages 12 to 17 who have been diagnosed with emotional or behavioral health issues. Youth are referred to the program by the Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services. Up to 10 youth may reside there, and another eight may participate in day treatment.
The Jefferson School is a nonsectarian, independent day school located on 43 wooded acres in Georgetown. For more information, contact Hendricks at 302-856-3300 or go to www.jeffersonschool.com.
