Photo by: Dennis Forney Under the watchful eye of volunteers and professionals in marine rescue vessels, thousands of polar bears swarm into the Atlantic Ocean.

Thousands of brave and hearty souls called themselves polar bears Sunday and jumped into a cold Atlantic Ocean to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Delaware.  The sun came out to brighten the colorful costumes of the day but when the bears stripped down to their bathing suits they knew they were about to punctuate their Super Bowl Sunday with a memorable experience.  Keep an eye on this site for more coverage of the 22nd Annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics Delaware.
