Tidewater Utilities Inc., a water utility serving over 42,000 businesses and residences throughout Delaware, recently honored several students for their outstanding water-related projects in the 2014 Sussex County Science Fair.

Winners were: Kathryn Donati from Debbie Fees' seventh-grade class at Sussex Academy, whose project was Number of Microorganisms in Water After Filtration; Griffin McCormick from Cheryl Rehrig’s ninth-grade class at Indian River High School, whose project was Water You Really Drinking?; and Lance White from Timothy Proseus’s 10th-grade class at Cape Henlopen High School, whose project was Acidity vs. Algae Growth. Each of the students received a $200 gift card for their outstanding projects.

“Tidewater is a big supporter of the sciences and proud to be a part of this event for the past 15 years. We are happy to award these students for their interest in science as well as water. Having a sustained relationship with the Sussex Science Fair is consistent with the value we place on supporting the communities in which we serve,” said Jerry Esposito, president of Tidewater Utilities Inc., who visited the students' school and presented them with their awards.
