Delaware State Police, with the help of numerous anonymous tips, have arrested two men they say broke into Wilson's Auction and stole about $4,000 in cash and jewelry from a safe on Aug. 4.

After surveillance footage of the men was released, Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police said a caller told police they spotted one of the men at 1 p.m. Aug. 6 outside Harrington Raceway and Casino.

Christopher J. Carter, 22, of Milford fled on foot when a trooper arrived at the casino; he was caught nearby, and police found eight small bags of heroin on him, Fournier said.

Police charged him with third-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, theft over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest and drug charges. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $19,000 secured bond.

On Aug. 8, police found Christopher Willey, 22, of Lincoln at 9:20 a.m. at the Red Mill Inn on Coastal Highway in Lewes.

Police charged Willey with third-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, theft over $1,500 and second-degree conspiracy. Willey's bond information was not available.

Fournier said a fully loaded .357 revolver removed from the safe remains missing.
