Delaware State Police arrested a Georgia man Nov. 19 after discovering counterfeit sneakers in his truck following a traffic stop.

A trooper pulled over Eric J. Loatman, 30, of Atlanta after he was observed speeding south of Milford. During the stop, the trooper noticed boxes of Nike sneakers in the vehicle, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

Loatman told police he bought the sneakers in New Jersey, but he did not have receipts for 40 Nike Air Force One sneakers. The sneakers all had the same serial number on them, Fournier said.

Police charged Loatman with trademark counterfeiting and speeding. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
