Truck dumps sand on Milton area road
A dump truck carrying 70,000 pounds of sand overturned at the intersection of Shingle Point and Gravel Hill roads March 19 when police say an 83-year-old Millsboro man failed to stop at the intersection.
A dump truck driven by Raymond R. Franklin, 48, of Felton was driving along Gravel Hill Road at about 1 p.m. when a car driven by George W. Creshine pulled in front of him, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
Creshine was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries at Beebe Medical Center; Franklin was not injured, Fournier said.
The road was closed for a couple of hours.
