Two people are charged with robbery after police say they grabbed a purse from a woman shopping at the outlets April 21 and drove off before police caught them on Route 24.

A 77-year-old woman was entering a store at 5:35 p.m. in the Seaside Outlets when Jamie Queen, 36, of Millsboro grabbed the woman's purse and ran to a waiting vehicle, said Cpl. John Day of the Delaware State Police.

The driver, Roger Spence, 34, of Baltimore, Md., drove off, but a witness followed the car before losing sight of it, Day said.

Police located the car on Route 24 and followed it for a mile before Spence pulled over, Day said.

Police found the woman's purse inside the car along with another stolen purse from April 19 and drug paraphernalia. Police also determined the license plate had been stolen.

Spence was charged with first-degree robbery, disregarding a police officer's signal, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of receiving stolen property under $1,500 and 15 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $36,453 secured bond.

Queen was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. She was committed to Delores Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in default of $31,000 secured bond.
