Two rescued from Delaware River after crash

Two people have been rescued by Delaware State Police helicopter after their small, single-engine aircraft went down in the Delaware River in the area between Fort Delaware State Park and Fort Mott State Park, N.J. Police said their injuries do not appear life-threatening.

About 10:46 a.m., the traffic control tower at New Castle County Airport reported it had lost contact with a small single engine aircraft.

The plane was quickly spotted and the occupants were rescued from the water.
They have been transported to shore for medical evaluation.
It has been determined that the incident occurred within the state of New Jersey boundaries, so  Pennsville Police Department  will issue further information. The names of the plane's occupants have not yet been released.
