UPDATE » Second arrest made in Lewes Wawa Fight
A second arrest was made Thursday afternoon in the early morning June 4 melee at the Lewes Wawa.
Thomas A. Purnell, 27 of Ellendale, turned himself in to troopers at Troop 7 Thursdayafternoon after his mother had observed him on a video aired on WBOC News in an early morning broadcast. She immediately contacted him and brought him in to the troop shortly thereafter.
Purnell, who is accused of assisting Reginald D. McGlotten in fleeing from a trooper who was attempting to take him into custody, was charged with Hindering Prosecution, Felony Resisting Arrest, Conspiracy 2nd, and Disorderly Conduct. After arraignment at JP2, he was released on $6,500.00 unsecured bond.
Troopers are continuing to investigate this incident and are seeking the public's assistance in the identification of the other individuals involved.
