Using Breath to Connect Body, Mind and Spirit ends Summer Spirituality Series Aug. 29
Presenter Anna Maria Kihn will lead an interactive workshop, Using Breath to Connect Body, Mind and Spirit, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, the finale of St. Peter's Episcopal Church's sixth annual weekly Summer Spirituality Series presentations, held in the Parish Hall at 211 Mulberry St. in Lewes. These events are presented by St. Peter’s Church and Seekers, Spiritual Treasures at St. Peter’s Square.
Headaches, pressure from stress and exhaustion can all be relieved with just a few basic massage and pressure point techniques. Kihn will lead the audience on a journey about how mind, body and spirit can become unified and cohesive.
Kihn is certified in acupressure. She studied with Michael Gach in Berkley, Calif. In fall 1999, she received certification in foot reflexology after studying with Margaret D’urst in Washington, D.C. Returning to the East Coast in the early '90s, she began studying Jin Shin Jyutsu with Mary Buremister, who brought the idea of knowing oneself to the United States from Japan. Kihn continues to attend workshops and studies with Jin Shin Jyutsu in those pursuits.
Fellowship and locally owned King's ice cream will follow the presentation. All are invited to attend this free session, which is designed for reflection and dialogue.
In addition to providing spiritual resources for those seeking greater understanding of their own religions, or learning about others, Seekers uses the net proceeds from its store to help those in need.
