Vance Kane Memorial fundraiser a big success
Thank you to everyone who helped make the Vance Kane Memorial fundraiser for Beebe’s breast health programs at the Tunnell Center, held Nov. 14 at 1776 Steakhouse, a total success. The event raised more than $3,500; all proceeds went to the Beebe Medical Foundation.
Special thanks go to Tim and Terese Kane of Kane Electric and to Vance and Kathy Kane for donating a 50-inch Samsung Smart TV. Thanks also go to Boulevard Ford, J. Melchiorre and Sons, Jiffy Lube of Lewes, Frank and Louie’s Italian Specialties, Harry and David, John and Stephenie Grefe, Beth Grefe and Matt and Michelle Pennino for donating additional auction items.
This event could not have happened without the support of Tom Holmes, Tammy Mozingo and Johnny Farquhar, owners of 1776 Steakhouse. Their donation of the wonderful food enjoyed by all helped make for a memorable evening. Johnny, Andrea Campanelli and Gary Taylor provided great service for the approximately 75 people who attended the event. The graciousness of everyone involved at 1776, including the behind-the-scenes staff who helped to set up and clean up, means a great deal to the Kane family.
Thanks also to the Beebe Medial Foundation for setting up the Vance Kane Memorial Fund last March and for assisting at the event. Judy Aliquo, CEO and president, and Beth Salaman, event coordinator, took in funds and kept the event flowing smoothly.
Many thanks to all who gave so generously to support the Vance Kane Memorial Fund, especially in this its first year. The Kane family is very fortunate to have so many friends and associates willing to come out and support their efforts to fund cancer-related programs year after year.
One final thank you goes to Tatim Kane, an 8th-grade student at Beacon Middle School who helped during the evening by selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Tatim has volunteered at every event done over the past four years to raise funds for cancer programs. She is a very special young lady.
