Department of Delaware Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary President Frances "Fran" Turner of Seaford paid her official inspection visit Aug. 7 to the Rehoboth VFW Post 7447 Ladies Auxiliary. Despite her living in Seaford, Rehoboth is Turner's home post. She was installed as state president at the Delaware State VFW Convention held in early June.

Along with the department (state) president, several state officers and chairmen attended the Rehoboth VFW Auxiliary meeting. These included Department Senior Vice President Theresa Iosbaker from Middletown, Junior Vice President Kimberly Norman from Seaford, Department Conductress Naomi "Buttercup" Baker from Lewes, and Immediate Past Department President and new National Recruiter Colleen Thompson from Milford. Thompson was honored as an Outstanding Department President at the National VFW Convention held in July. She announced that the Department of Delaware came home with $1,300 worth of prize money from the national convention for its achievements during her term of office.

A luncheon was held for the visiting department staff and the members of the Rehoboth VFW Ladies Auxiliary. New Rehoboth VFW Post 7447 Commander Bob McGinnis spoke to the group prior to the start of the meeting and offered a welcome to Turner.

The regular monthly business meeting included an introduction of department officers. Among those present was Estelle Tabasko, Department of Americanism chairman, who also belongs to the Rehoboth VFW Ladies Auxiliary and is a past department president, as well having served as past president for the Rehoboth VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Two surprise attendees were past auxiliary presidents Ann Smith from Lewes and Ruth Irvin, who traveled from Bear to attend.
